Watch Your Spending But Still Play It Safe | AFC Urgent Care of East Tennessee
The team at AFC Urgent Care TN understands how important it is to watch your spending and to stay within the family budget. However, while used products do allow many people the opportunity to purchase an item at a more reasonable cost, sometimes used isn’t always better.
Watch What You Buy Used
For one, cribs continually change safety requirements. Back in the day, drop-side cribs were extremely popular. However, today, they are banned in the United States. Today’s standards for cribs call for stronger supports and hardware to protect infants even more than before. Therefore, it’s better to just try and find a crib on sale rather than buying a used one to ensure your crib meets those standards.
Are you teaching your child to ride a bike this summer? Or does someone in your family ride a motorcycle? A helmet—whether for a bike or a motorcycle—needs to be purchased new. When you buy a used helmet, no matter what it looks on the outside, you never know whether that helmet has been involved in some kind of accident and damaged. Therefore, it’s just best to buy new so that you know your helmet is in the best condition possible to keep your head safe.
Shoes are another item you should think twice about buying used. Especially if you want to keep your feet comfortable and your back pain to a minimum, the thrift store is probably the last place you want to look for shoes. Most of the time (if not all of the time) shoes conform to the owner’s feet. Therefore, they are not going to be as comfortable or supportive for you since, chances are, your feet are different than the previous owner’s. As a result, if you’re looking to not spend an arm and a leg on shoes, look for the deals at shoe stores instead of purchasing secondhand to help keep your feet and back as free from pain as possible.
