Simple Swaps for Better Health

The great thing about a new year is that you have a new chance to start over and get it right. OK—so those resolutions from 2016 didn’t go so well. That doesn’t mean you won’t succeed with your resolution to become a healthier version of yourself in 2017. Make a couple small changes here and there, and you will be in better health before you know it!

Switch It Up

First things first, clean up your kitchen! Do you still have leftovers from Christmas and New Year’s? Grab a garbage bag, and clean out your fridge and cabinets. Then, after a trip to the grocery store, fill your fridge and kitchen cabinets with healthy foods, including lean protein, fruits, vegetables and whole grains. This way, when you’re hungry, you’re able to grab a healthy item instead of a bag of chips and soda.

Make a small change at work, too, for better health. For instance, start using your breaks as the opportunity to obtain your exercise for the day. Instead of using your 15-minute break to sit and chat with a coworker, take a walk around the building while talking. Or, during your lunch break, head to the gym. This way, you’ll knock out your workout for the day before 5 p.m.

Don’t forget to add more water to your day. As soon as you wake up, have a glass of water! Then, be sure to have at least one glass of water every two hours to keep your body hydrated and flush out the unwanted toxins for a healthier body.
